Mary A. Inglesi, 98, of Everly Street, Cranston, died peacefully in her home on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Inglesi to whom she was married to for 49 years until his death in 1999.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Bernarda (Gallante) Marsella. Mary had lived in Cranston for many years.
She is survived by her children: Noreen M. Inglesi, with whom she lived, and Linda B. Martin and her husband, Wayne of Smithfield. She was the proud grandmother of Kelley L. Thoma and Wayne D. Martin, Jr. and his wife, Tiffany and Nana of Riley Thoma, Madison Martin and Juliana Martin, all whom she cherished. She was the sister of the late Sadie DiMeglio, Susan Marsella, Agnes Marsella, Alda Ventrone, Charles Marsella, Frank Marsella and Alfred Marsella. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews. great nieces and great-nephews.
Mary worked as a seamstress for Sue’s Design and Alteration for forty years, was co-owner of Dee’s Place in Charlestown, was a founding member and Secretary of a non-profit organization Notable Works Publication and Distribution Co., Inc., since its inception in 2007. She was a volunteer for the Cranston Senior Center and a member of the National Wildlife Federation, the ASPCA and the Audubon Society of Rhode Island.
Mary was a caregiver to her entire family, she loved to cook for everyone, enjoyed playing the drums and was an excellent dancer. Her family and friends cherished her unwavering dedication, priceless sense of humor, unique personal style and artistic perfectionism and will miss her terribly.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 10am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Tuesday, 5-7pm.
