The Honorable Anthony Richard “Dick” Ferullo of South Yarmouth, Massachusetts and Bonita Springs, Florida and formerly of Medford, Massachusetts passed on May 24, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was 92 years old.
Born December 29, 1929, to Mary (Lavita) and Louis Ferullo in the North End of Boston. Dick graduated from Medford High School with the class of 1948, then attended Stratford Business School. Dick served seven years in the Coast Guard Reserves. He was elected as a Massachusetts State Representative in 1959 and served three terms.
After his political career, he entered the wine and spirits industry where he held many positions. His proudest accomplishment in the industry was selling Glen Ellen Wines, where he was instrumental in helping to build the “fighting varietal” category, bringing fine wines to the dinner table at reasonable prices.
Dick loved to spend time with friends and family especially watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He enjoyed travel and played golf well into his 80’s.
Dick is survived by his five children: Cheryl Ferullo and partner Dave MacDonald of Byfield, Rick and Lauren Ferullo of Chelmsford, Darlene and Mike Hall of Boxford, Sharon and Grant Baxter of Rowley and Tracy and Peter Murphy of Ashland. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Matthew, Andrew and Jaimi Rich, Jillianne Ferullo Tobin, Kelsey Ferullo Lima, Mitch Ferullo, Cameron and Anna Hall, McKenzie and Madison Baxter and Lily Murphy as well as two great-grandchildren: Myles and Colton Rich.
Dick was preceded in death by wives Anne Clark Ferullo and Gloria Pierson Ferullo.
Services will be private.
