Efrain Rivera, 78, of New Bedford, passed away Sunday May 22, 2022 after a brief illness.
Born in Manati, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Damian Rodriguez Rivera and Ventura Manzano Melendez, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
Efrain was a loving, caring person with a great sense of humor, who enjoyed joking, fishing and his antique collections.
Survivors include two sons, Efrain Rivera, Jr. of Lowell, and Jesus Rivera; three daughters, Nardy Rivera of New Bedford, and Elizabeth Rivera and Marianela Rivera, both of Kansas; five brothers, Pedro Rivera of Fall River, Eduardo Rivera and Emilio Rivera, both of New Bedford, Raul Rivera of Orlando, FL and Jose Rivera of Puerto Rico; three sisters, Rosa M. Cruz of Puerto Rico, and Consuelo Manzano and Margarita Rivera, both of New Bedford; several grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Lydia Esther Manzano and Elisa Rivera Manzano.
His Funeral Service will be held on Friday May 27th at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
