Shawn P. Rioux, 58 of Chester, NH died Saturday May 21, 2022 at his home. Shawn was born in Nashua, NH on February 8, 1964, a son of Katherine M. (Jacobs) Rioux and the late, Joseph E. Rioux, Jr. He was raised in Londonderry, NH and had resided in Chester for the last 10 years, formerly living in Derry, NH.
Shawn dearly loved his mother and his family and really missed his dogs, Red and Gizmo who we hope were there greeting him with lots of puppy kisses. He enjoyed music and would often DJ at family gatherings. Shawn was notorious for doing Michael Jackson’s Moon Walk and could sing out a beautiful “What A Wonderful World” by Louie Armstrong and “Heartland” by George Strait.
Shawn was formerly employed by the Derry Boys and Girls Club and Parkland Medical Center and recently for the past several years at Dunkin Donuts in Raymond where he loved his job at the customer drive thru and valued his friendship with his manager Tracy Black.
Shawn was a former chairman of the Derry Jaycees and received a project of the year plaque for “Haunted House” 1988-1989 and William Brookfield memorial award in 1984 for “Unselfish Leader.”
In addition to his mother of Chester, he is survived by two brothers, Joseph and Judy Rioux of Windham, NH, and Michael and Virginia Rioux of Chester. He was a devoted uncle to, Angela and Stephen Sullivan of Derry, Rebecca McFadden and her fiancé, Michael Najuch of Haverhill, MA, Michael and Katie Rioux of Londonderry, Nicole Rioux of Concord, NH, and Joseph D. Rioux of Windham. He also leaves several aunts, uncles, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday May 25, 2022 from 5 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Burial will be at a later date in Holy Cross Cemetery, Londonderry. Mask usage will be at the discretion of the attendee.
