Mamie Mae Harrison, age 90, of Brockton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Waymon Harrison. Born in Abbeville, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Lola (Miller) Starks.
A loving and caring person who would give the shirt of her back for anyone. She was a passionate, strong, and independent woman who was devoted to her family and church. Mamie was the matriarch and glue that held her family together. She loved sewing, cooking, attending church, and going out to eat, especially at IHOP.
Her survivors include her children, Betty Ann Bender, and her husband Andrew of Brockton, Bobby Ray Harrison of Brockton, Linda Mae Harrison of Brockton, Wayman Harrison Jr, of Brockton, Robert Harrison of Fall River, and Karen Marie Harrison of Brockton; siblings, Foster Lionel Starks, Charles Allen Starks, Margaret Martin, Betty Jean Stevens, Dorothy Hudson, and Agnes Johnson; 44 grandchildren, 72 great grandchildren, 20 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was the mother of the late David Allen Hill, Ernest Hill Jr, and Henry Lee Harrison, and sister of the late Johnny Starks, LeRoy Starks, Jessy Lee Starks, Bobby Jo Starks, Mattie Lean Calhoun, Carrie Starks, and Lola Rose Starks.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, 441 Main Street, Brockton. All are welcome to attend Mamie’s Homegoing Service on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at 10:00 am in Full Gospel Tabernacle Church officiated by Rev. Ortez Vandross. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
