Theresa A. (Monroe) Barrett, 70, of Somerset died Wednesday, May 18th in Charlton Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her husband, David J. Barrett, and would have celebrated their 50th Anniversary on June 10th. She also leaves her son, Timothy J. Barrett and his wife, Inese of Eltville, Germany, and her daughter, Jennifer Sryfi and her husband, Mbarek of Newtown, PA; her sister, Charlotte Halley and her husband, Kenneth of Dudley; seven grandchildren, Zachary, Emily, Brigita, Miriam, Agate, Vilhelms, and Magdalena; her nephew, Keith Halley and niece, Karen Tinsley and a great-niece, Samantha.
Theresa was born in Worcester, the daughter of John and Doris (LeBlanc) Monroe, and had been employed by Southeast Rehab in Fall River before retiring. She was an active volunteer with a local church, loved traveling and exploring the world, and enjoyed Broadway plays. Theresa will be remembered for her countless acts of kindness, supporting friends and neighbors in their time of need, or quietly sitting by the bedside of hospital patients so they would not be alone. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Her funeral is Tuesday, May 24th with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester, followed by burial in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Her calling hours are Monday, May 23rd, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
