CENTER HARBOR ---- Marta Mary Voight, wife of Thomas Ploszaj, of Center Harbor, NH, formerly of Winsted and Terryville, CT, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2022, at Concord Hospital-Laconia, after a short illness.
Marta would not have wanted a “fuss” made about her passing. She’d tell all of her loved ones to “stop that”. But most of all, she’d tell us all to live life. She knew life and time are precious and invaluable. As a former scrapbook store owner, she often captured her favorite memories in pictures that her family will cherish.
These last few years Marta was limited to spending a lot of time at home from having rheumatoid arthritis. Whether it was watching a new series on Netflix, ordering something from QVC, shaking her head at Tom for eating “again”, or watching the birds at the feeder through her picture window, Marta was content.
Marta enjoyed simple things in life: family holidays, a warm cup of soup, planting flowers in her garden, a trip to the casino or dog track, scrapbooking, catching up on her favorite television series and bowling.
Marta is survived by her husband Tom; her children Jeremy (Amie) Lawson, Meghan (Mike) Howe, Kimberly Ploszaj and Justin Ploszaj; her grandchildren Ashley, PJ and Chaeli; her siblings Paula Voight-Jause Frank, Bob Voight, her niece BethAnne, and many extended relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Bob and Betty Voight.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 11:00am at Terryville Congregational Church, 233 Main Street, Terryville, CT.
A second Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022, from 12:00pm-4:00pm at the Laconia VFW Hall, 134 Court St., Laconia, NH.
