CHICOPEE – Pauline F. (Giusti) Walton, 85, of Chicopee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. Pauline was born in Holyoke on May 22, 1936, a beloved daughter of immigrants from Italy, the late Frank Giusti from Fornaci di Barga and Erminia (Agosti) Giusti from Gambolo. She was the first in her family that attended college where she graduated from the Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists, a division of Tufts University. She was married in 1958 to Charles Walton and they shared a 64 year love affair. She leaves her husband, Charlie and her three children; Charles Walton Jr. and his wife Catherine, Susan (Walton) Arsenault and her husband Dennis, and James Walton and his wife Diane. She was the cherished Nono to her three grandchildren, Emily Walton and her fiancé, Joseph Keating, Kaitlyn Arsenault, and Emma Arsenault. She was a committed dental practitioner and practiced in the dental offices of the late, Dr. Harold Ratchford, the late, Dr. Edward Ryan and the late, Dr. Robert Moriarty. She was a past officer of the Valley District Dental Hygienist Association and also volunteered at both Brightside in West Springfield and Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield. After retirement, she volunteered at St. Joan of Arc School as the ‘Fluoride Lady’ where she enjoyed working with the children. Pauline was a member of Sainte Rose de Lima Parish and was very grateful for Sister Fran, Sister Mary, and Peggy Constant for their home visits in recent years. She was strong in character, outgoing, and principled. She brought strong views and conviction to her roles in work, marriage and as a mother and grandmother that were always appreciated. Pauline had noted recently that she loved Mr. Pickles cartoons but asked to not mention that she enjoyed crossword puzzles. Her funeral and burial will be private. The St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (the parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020) is assisting the family.
