Beloved husband of Maureen (Mullen) Harvey. Dear son of the late James and Veronica (Kislowski) Harvey. Loving father of Stephen and Amy Harvey of Franklin, Sharon (Harvey) and Daniel Steele of Quincy, Paul and Liezel Harvey of Braintree, the late James Jay Harvey III, and John and Eileen Reed of South Boston. Devoted brother of Patricia Cardinal of Weymouth, Judy Ashman of Quincy, and Pauline Boulay of South Boston. Proud papa of Will, Zach, Ben, Daniel Jr., Emily, Michael, James Jay IV, Devyn, Dylan, Colin, Rose, Matthew, Sara, Shawna, Ashley, and big papa to Lucy. Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Jim was a lifelong resident of Southie and former owner of Jim’s Variety for many years. Jim was a staple at the corner of F & 5th and really enjoyed helping the community. Most of all, spending time with his loving family is what gave him the most joy.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attending visiting hours on Sunday, May 22, 2002 from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester St, South Boston. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, May 23 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 386 Hancock St, Quincy. Procession will leave funeral home at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow in Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree.
