LEICESTER: Vincent J. Lombardozzi, 85, died Saturday, May 14, after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 62 years, Joan B. (Pietro) Lombardozzi, a son Michael A. Lombardozzi of Leicester, a daughter Teresa M. Bedard and her husband Jeffrey of Dudley, a sister Mary Ann Zicaro and her husband Bucky of Worcester, four grandchildren; Kristin Letourneau and her husband Jon, Cathryn J. Cleveland and her husband Ben, Anthony E. Lombardozzi and his wife Mollie and Hayden K. Lombardozzi, three great grandchildren; Hailey & Austin Letourneau and Kinsley Lombardozzi, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Josephine Ball.
Vinny was born in Worcester, son of Anthony and Antonia (Errara) Lombardozzi. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade in 1955 and then served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 36 years retiring in 2000. He was a member of St. Pius X Church, the Disabled American Veterans and the Greendale Retired Men's Club. He enjoyed taking daily walks, golfing, gardening, reading and the New England Patriots. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Vinny was happiest when he was spending time with his family.
The funeral will be held from MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St, Leicester with a Memorial Mass at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 20 in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main Street, Leicester. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 19 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph-St. Pius X Parish, 759 Main Street, Leicester, MA 01524.
