James “Jim” Francis Trierweiler, 80, died peacefully in the care and comfort of his family at his residence in Wayland on Friday, May 6, 2022 following a period of declining health.
He was born in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota on July 14, 1941 the son of the late Francis James Trierweiler and Thelma Delores (Guthmiller) Trierweiler.
Jim was the beloved husband for 54 years of Kathleen M. (Whelan) Trierweiler of Wayland. Devoted father of Grant Trierweiler and his wife Kristine of Framingham and Garrett Trierweiler and his wife Karen of Framingham. Cherished grandfather of Jackson, Aidan, Lauren, and Alex. Brother of Mary McLaughlin of West Linn, OR; Theresa Trierweiler of Fairfax, VA; Robert Trierweiler of Maiden, NC and the late Joseph, John, Jerry, Thomas and Stephen Trierweiler.
Jim has been a resident of Wayland for the past 40 years and previously resided in Minnesota, South Dakota, and Oregon. He received his BS in Education from Mt. Angel College in Oregon and his Master’s in Education from Norwich University in Vermont.
Jim had a long and distinguished career as an Educator and Teacher for the Carlisle Middle School Department of Science teaching and mentoring eight graders. He also lent his talents as a presenter of many seminars and workshops to other teachers in New England. He was a well-respected colleague to many he mentored and guided over the years.
He was an avid gardener at his East Plain Street residence where he offered his bounty at his front lawn vegetable, fruit, and flower stand.
Memorial Visitations will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rt 30), Wayland. From 3:00 to 4:00 pm, his family will have an informal hour of sharing memories and stories of Jim.
