Andrew M. Todaro, age 90, of S. Weymouth passed away peacefully at home with loving family by his side on Sunday, May 8, 2022. Andy was raised and educated in Quincy. He graduated from Quincy Vocational Technical School in 1950 followed by a 23 year dedication to the Army National Guard of which Andy was very proud of.
Andy was very talented at fixing things and worked for 27 years at Deacon Plumbing. After retirement he loved using the skills he learned throughout his life to help neighbors, family, and friends when they needed. After retirement from Deacon Plumbing in 1990, Andy was a maintenance man for Marriot Hotels in Boston for many years.
Andy was active at St. Francis Xavier Church in Weymouth for 56 years. He was known for his kindness and compassion shown to those around him. Andy loved being surrounded by those he cared about and it showed at his famous New Years and Christmas Party.
Andy was predeceased by his beloved wife Christine Todaro (Aitken). He is survived by his loving children Chris Geary and her husband Peter of Avon, Sandra Nolan and her husband Michael of Halifax, and Patti Sylvester of Weymouth, his grandchildren Melanie, AJ, Stacy, Martha, John, Joey, and Sean, and his great-grandchildren Jacoby, Jayla, Lily, Joseph, Audrey, and Patrick. Andy is also survived by his sister Catherine Hicks of Rockland.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Andrew on Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 4-8pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home Friday morning at 10am for a Celebration of Life prior to the funeral mass which will take place at St. Francis Xavier at 11am. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at www.StJude.org.
