Bartell, David A. 74 of Carver MA passed peacefully at the VAMC in West Roxbury on May 6, 2022. David is survived by his wife Susan Ryan of Carver, and his children; Tracy Bartell of Tiverton RI, Jessica Ryan Espinosa of Bridgewater and James Bartell of Weymouth. Also leaves dear in laws Christine and Bill Weyer of Long Island NY and brother Kenneth Bartell and wife Rose of Assonet MA as well. David was a loving Grandfather to Luke Bartell, Christian and Rosalie Espinosa. David leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews. Loving son of Alfred D. Bartell and Virginia Beary, both deceased.
David grew up in Randolph MA, where he hunted and fished as a kid. He served in the US Army in the 44th Medical Brigade in the Central Highlands of Viet Nam. He lived in Wellesley MA and worked for the Recreation center and highway department. David had a rewarding career at the VAMC Boston transporting disabled veterans. For twenty years he compassionately served many Vets with grace and dignity.
David was a passionate Bass Angler. A lifetime of fishing friends was his trophy Some of the fondest memories of his family and friends was fishing with David. His son James followed in his footsteps to become a competitive bass angler.
After retirement David, along with his wife Susan, moved to South Meadow Village in Carver, where David built many wonderful friendships. David will be deeply missed and forever loved by his friends and family. There will be a funeral service on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 9:45 am at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave, Bourne MA. Following the ceremony a reception will be held at South Meadow Village, Carver MA at the Clubhouse.
