Obituary

Ronald E. Webb, 74, of New Bedford passed away Saturday May 7, 2022 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Fort Ord, California, the son of the late Arthur M. and Ramona M. (Barros) Webb, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life. He was a graduate of New Bedford High School and UMass Dartmouth.

Ronnie was formerly employed as a warehouse and inventory manager for Polaroid Corporation in New Bedford, and later was employed as field operations manager for the Department of Commerce Census Bureau.

During the Vietnam War, he served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving three of his four years with the National Security Agency, with Top Secret Clearance. An avid golfer, he was a member of the 9-18 Golf Club. He was also a member of the Bisca Tournament Club and the Cape Verdean Ultramarine Band Club.

He is survived by his son, Ronald E. Webb, Jr.; his companion, Sheila Riggins; two sisters, Constance B. Tolentino and her husband Leroy, and Candida Hodge; two granddaughters, Nadia Webb and Nyrie Webb; and nieces and nephews.

His Funeral will be held on Thursday May 12th at 7:45 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 8:45 AM. Burial with military honors will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday May 11th from 4-7 PM.
