Janet Alberta (Polleck) Flanagan, 85 of Tewksbury, formerly of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Lowell General Hospital.
She was born on October 31, 1936 and was a daughter of the late Alphonse Albert Polleck and the late Lillian (Foley) Polleck. She was a longtime Worcester and later Tewksbury resident. She was a 3rd order secular Franciscan as a member of St. Francis Fraternity of Tewksbury. She was a devoted communicant of St. William's Church where she served as a Eucharistic minister and was a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality. She was employed as a nursing assistant at Memorial Hospital in Worcester for many years before her retirement.
Janet loved her life and was a devoted Catholic, often visiting Our Lady La Salette in Attleboro. She enjoyed gardening, especially botanical gardens. She loved traveling and spending time at the beach. Above all else, spending time with her family, especially her grandson, and friends brought her the most happiness.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Kelly Flanagan of Amesbury, MA, her son, Jackie Flanagan of Worcester, MA; her grandson, Jacob Flanagan-Aubin of Worcester; her brother, Albert Polleck and his wife, Barbara, of Tewksbury; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her former husband, the late Jack Flanagan and her sister, the late Annmarie Bellofatto.
On Monday, May 16, 2022 all are welcome to attend her visitation from 10-11 a.m. at Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury, MA 978-851-2061.
Her funeral mass will be offered at 11:30 a.m. at St. Williams Church in Tewksbury, followed by burial at Tewksbury Cemetery.
