Brenda Gale Mooney Cervantes, 69, of Tifton passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2022, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Ronnie Cone officiating. Mrs. Cervantes will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Leobardo de La Cruz Molna, George Cirillo, Tony Hall, James Hall, Alvin Hall and William Graham will serve as pallbearers.
Born October 23, 1952, in Tifton, Mrs. Cervantes was the daughter of the late Marshall Mooney and Willie John Wilcox Mooney. She was also preceded in death by one brother. She was a homemaker, and she was of the Pentecostal faith. She loved Gospel music.
Mrs. Cervantes is survived by her husband, Jose Cervantes of Tifton; three daughters, Melissa Sargent of Ocilla, Kristie Torres of Tifton and Eva Martinez of Arcadia, Florida; one son, Adam Joseph McCumber of Arcadia, Florida; her step-mother, Norma Mooney of Donalsonville; two sisters, Marilyn Craft and Donna Harrison, both of Climax; ten grandchildren, Brianna Sargent, Arielle Sargent, Sandro Fonseca, Isabel Mendoza, Selena Chandler-Scott, Jacilyn Scott, Alyssa Scott, Jada Eason, Bella Torres and Jayden Torres; three great-grandchildren, Cam Gammage, Ski Johns and Mya Gale Johns; and a special friend, Jean Brady.
