“Let us endeavor so to live that when we come to die even the undertaker will be sorry” - Mark Twain
Kevin Nye, 53, lost his battle with cancer at his home on May 7th, 2022. He now joins his father, Herbert M. Nye to begin a new journey on the other side.
He found peace with his beloved soulmate and best friend, Sherrill at his bedside. For the past 29 years they shared that rare kind of love that so many strive for. That love was evident to anyone who had the privilege of seeing them together.
He was a Son, Baby brother, Uncle, and Friend. Most of all he was loved and always will be.
Kevin was a member of the Northeastshooters Community and attended many of the NES shoots. His passion of the sport and most of all, his humor forged many friendships over the years.
His battle with cancer was an inspiration to us all. He put up a hell of a fight, never losing that sharp wit and sense of humor which made him one of a kind. He was such a huge presence in our lives and will be dearly missed.
Kevin is survived by the love of his life Sherrill Gavel; her daughter Chrysten Gavel: mother Alice Nye; his sister Karen Cooney; his brothers Timothy Nye and Dennis Nye. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and friends.
