William T. Zaccagnini, Jr, passed away peacefully in the company of his loving family at the Sancta Maria Nursing Care Center on Thursday, May 5th. He was 67. Born and raised in Medford, he was the son of the late William and Mary J. (Graffeo) Zaccagnini.
William graduated from Lowell State College and embarked on a career as a medical technician and worked for many years at Boston Medical Center, before his retirement. As a boy scout, William earned his Eagle Scout designation. His years as a scout kindled his life-long love for the outdoors. A history major in college, William loved to read and keep up to date with the latest books on various historical topics. He also enjoyed art and music. Most of all he was devoted to his family and enjoyed their company.
William was the beloved brother of Elaine Tosto and her husband Paul of Medford and John Zaccagnini of Tewksbury. He was a loving uncle to Sharon and Aaron Esker of Hamilton, and their children Harrison and Vivian, Robin Tosto of Newport, RI, Matthew and Meghan Tosto of Marblehead, and their children Zachary and Graham.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 11 at 11:30 AM in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
