Gloria L. Rustigian (Florentino), age 97, of North Easton passed away May 6th at the Newfield House in Plymouth. Born in Boston, she was raised in Roslindale and graduated from Roslindale High School and Simmons College. Immediately out of college, Gloria ventured through Nova Scotia on a bike trip. After returning home, she worked with Dr Enders and his colleagues at Boston Children’s Hospital to grow the polio vaccine in human samples. This discovery lead to Dr. Enders and his team receiving the 1954 Noble Prize for Medicine. After moving to Easton MA. She worked for many years as a Microbiologist at the Cardinal Cushing Hospital in Brockton before retiring. Gloria has lived in Easton since 1968 where she was a member of the Easton Garden Club. She was an avid tennis player and enjoyed wintering in Naples, FL.

Gloria is survived by her children Robert Rustigian and his spouse Martha Rustigian of Plymouth, MA, Gabrielle Rustigian of Evergreen, CO and Christina Wallace and her spouse David E. Wallace of Dunstable, MA. Grandmother of Nicholas Rustigian of Bozeman, MT and Tanya Rustigian of Vineyard Haven, MA. Beloved sister of the late Jean Stokowski of West Roxbury Funeral services are private.
