Valerie O. (Robertson) Kustigian, 94, of North Oxford died Wednesday, May 4th in St. Vincent Hospital. Her husband of 48 years, George P. Kustigian died in 1993. She leaves four sons, Harry Kustigian and his wife, Gail of Rochdale and their children, Brian and Brett, John Kustigian and his wife, Marea of Auburn and their children, Lauren and
Michael, Robert Kustigian of Oxford, and George Kustigian and his wife, Michele of Leicester and their children, John, Lindsay and Stephen; five great grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Joseph, Liam, and Henry. She was predeceased by a son, Michael in 1968.
She was born in Ipswich, England the daughter of George and Florence (Airey) Robertson and immigrated to the United States in 1945. Valerie worked at Zayres Department Store and ran the family business for numerous years, Kustigian Greenhouse where sheworked for over 40 years. Following the death of her son, Michael, Valerie became a Gold Star Mother. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, George to England and the beaches, especially Cape Cod. Valerie loved her family and enjoyed taking care of her boys.
Private funeral services were held and burial was in Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
