Gilligan, James H., 67, of Dedham, MA, passed away doing what he loved, riding his motorcycle, on May 5, 2022. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Laureen Peck Gilligan and sister Nancy Gilligan Driscoll. He is survived by his children James and Meghan Gilligan of Foxborough, Kayleigh and Brian Foley of North Attleboro, and McKenna Gilligan of Dedham, and his loving partner, Patricia J. Brennan of Dedham. He is also survived by his sister Claire Gilligan Tremblay and four beautiful granddaughters Lauren, Joleen, Veronica, and Norah, who were the light of his life.
Jim was born in Cambridge, MA, and grew up in Cambridge and Arlington, graduating from Arlington High School. He was a dedicated and loving father to his children, coaching every sports team he could. Jim had a lifelong passion for motorcycles. He brought light into the life of every person he met and was held dear by his tremendous collection of friends.
Visiting hours will be held at George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham on Tuesday, May 10th from 4:00 – 8:00pm. His funeral mass will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 420 High St., Dedham, on Wednesday, May 11th at 10:00am. Relatives and friends kindly invited to celebrate his life. Internment in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
