Mr. Derek Martin Headlam Wells "Bird", a resident of Lawrence Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, April 27, 2022. He was 55 years old.
Born in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, on April 20, 1967, he is survived by his beloved father Martin Godfrey Headlam Wells who lives in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania and the late Pamela Lille (Flack) Wells. Also survived by his loving daughter; Amanda Wells and granddaughter; Maia Evans of Pelham, New Hampshire, brothers; Nicholas Wells and wife Mary Ann of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Graham Wells and wife Regina of Dracut, Massachusetts, sister; Jennifer Harmon of Sandwich, Massachusetts and many nieces and nephews.
Derek was employed as a carpenter and painter for many years. He loved to socialize and was a very friendly person to anyone he met. Derek enjoyed helping people. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed outdoor activities. He will be dearly missed.
Derek’s funeral service will be celebrated Monday June 6th, 2022, at 2pm in The Parish of Christ Church, 25 Central Street, Andover. He will then be buried next to his mother in the church yard.
