Barbara (Dennis) Roscoe, 84, formerly of East Bridgewater & Abington, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2022 in Brockton, MA after a prolonged illness.
Barbara was born in Brockton, MA to Lucy (Emma) and John Dennis in 1938. She lived her entire life in the South Shore, attending local schools and was a 1959 graduate of Bridgewater State College, obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Barbara was a teacher, mother, office worker, and professional caregiver but will be dearly remembered for her devotion and caring for her family and especially her children. She and her former husband, David Roscoe, raised their family in East Bridgewater, MA. Barbara leaves behind her son Alan Roscoe and his wife Pamela of Rowley, MA; daughter Beth Roscoe of Abington, MA; daughter Jennifer (Roscoe) Repeta and her husband David of East Bridgewater; and daughter Heather Roscoe of Newmarket, NH.
Barbara is also survived by a sister, Shirley Dennis of Lexington, KY; and by her beloved grandchildren, Emily (Roscoe) Frost, Julia Repeta, Daniel Repeta, and Brian Repeta, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by a sister, Caryl Dennis, and a brother John “Jack” Dennis, Jr.
Barbara was active over the years with the (former) First Parish Unitarian Church in East Bridgewater; and more recently with the Union Congregational Church (also in East Bridgewater) where she was active with the choir into her late 70’s.
Family and friends are invited to attend her visiting hours and Celebration of Life on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the Rotary) in Whitman, MA.
Memorial and Remembrance Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the Union Congregational Church, 105 Pleasant Street in East Bridgewater, MA with Reverend Gordon Crouch officiating. Private burial will follow at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Union Congregational Church, or in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association, Dementia Society of America, or American Cancer Society.
