Donna B. Dunbar of Winthrop passed away on May 3, 2022. She was 67 years old. Born in Winthrop, she was the cherished daughter of the late Richard L. and Jean C. (O’Neil) Dunbar.
Donna was a member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks #1078 and the Volunteer Yacht Club. She enjoyed gardening, walking, artistry and boating. Donna loved the ocean and growing up in Winthrop surrounded by its beautiful seascapes.
Donna was the devoted mother of Sunny D. Austin of Manchester, NH. She was the adored grandmother of Idalis Austin, Jazel German and Kil’yan German and the great-grandmother of Harlo Lane. Donna was the dear sister of Dana B. Olivar and her husband Richard C. of Manchester, NH, Dale R. Dunbar and his wife Priscilla of Winthrop and the late Debra B. DiGaetano. She was the loving aunt of Taylor Dunbar, Garret Olivar and the late Dawn DiGaetano. Donna was the former wife of the late Bruce W. Austin.
Visiting hours will be held in the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. Winthrop on Friday, May 6, from 9-11AM followed by a funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church-Winthrop at 11:30AM. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will be in Winthrop Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN. 380105 or to the Viking Pride Foundation Inc.
