Obituary

Mildred B. Le Blanc, 93, resident of Medway, MA since 1959 passed away April 30, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones at the Lydia Taft House in Uxbridge, MA. Born in Milford, MA, she was the daughter of the late Melbourne Howatt and Bertha (Halliwell) Howatt.

She moved to Canada as a baby and spent her early years living in Prince Edward Island, Canada. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, William J. Le Blanc, Sr. Together they had three surviving children, Darlene Lamont and her husband Richard of Uxbridge, MA, Nancy McCarthy and her late husband Robert of Medway, MA and William J. Le Blanc, Jr. of Medway, MA. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews in both Canada and the USA. She was also predeceased by her three brothers, Vernon, Austin, and Kelsey Howatt all of Canada and her sister, Greta of New Hampshire.

Mildred took pride in her job as a Nurse’s Aide at Medfield State Hospital where she worked for 24 years. After her retirement, she focused on her grandchildren and enjoyed many trips to Prince Edward Island. She loved to teach the grandchildren how to go clamming. Everyone got a lesson on how to relax and float in the ocean. She loved the beauty of her Island, red clay, rolling fields of yellow flowers and lupine. She loved gardening and was a very good cook and baker. She was the best storyteller and her favorite hobby of knitting was her ministry and act of love to many. She donated hundreds of socks, mittens, hats, baby booties and bonnets to those in need. She did this anonymously and enjoyed knowing she kept many people warm in harder times. She spent her final days surrounded by her loved ones; sunshine on her face and watching her birds outside her window. She was patiently waiting for her moment to meet Jesus at the gates of heaven. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Her family would like to personally thank the staff of Lydia Taft in Uxbridge. They each gave her such great care and compassion in her final days on earth. Per her request, the graveside service will be private. Mildred is forever grateful to the Millis Fire Department who took such good care of her Mother Bertha many years ago. Any donations in Mildred’s name would be gratefully appreciated and can be sent Millis Fire Department at 885 Main St Millis , MA. Messages of condolences can be sent to 180 Pleasant St. Millis, MA 02054 in care of Lindsay Schulz. She is now reunited with her loved ones in heaven.
