Edward Garneau, 88, of Whitman, passed away on April 28th peacefully. He was the beloved husband of 65 years to Mildred (Murphy) Garneau.
He was born and raised in Dorchester, before moving to Whitman, over 60 years ago.
Edward worked at the Nimrod Press, for 39 years and as a printer for over 40 years. He served his country in the United States Army from 1954-1956.
He enjoyed camping, traveling, gardening, his grandkids and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife Mildred, he is survived by 7 children, Tom Garneau and his companion Carmen Ashby of Ohio, Barbara Healey of Raynham, Nancy Garneau, William Garneau and his wife Nancy, Michele Norton all of Whitman, Eddie Garneau and his wife Kirsten and Jennifer Garneau and her companion Eric Perkins both of Hanson, his 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late, Oliver Garneau, Frances Boudeau and Evelyn Garneau.
His funeral services will be held on Thursday May 5th at 10:00AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street, (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman. Visitation will be on Wednesday May 4th from 4:00-7:00PM. Interment will be in the Mount Vernon Cemetery, Abington.
