Vivian Hazel Dickens, 71, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Irwin County Hospital in Ocilla, Georgia.
Memorial services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at the Fitzgerald Church of God in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Dewain Joiner officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
Mrs. Dickens was born May 16, 1950, in Columbus, Georgia, to the late Earl & Hazel Herring Thomas. Born into a military family, she was raised in Kansas City but always considered Charleston, South Carolina her home. She always enjoyed her time there when she visited. She worked as a convenience store manager and loved to fish, so long as someone baited the hook and took off the fish. She was a member of the Ocilla Church of God.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Charles Elisha Dickens of Ocilla; sons: Gary Wayne Brazzell and his wife Tammy Lynn Brazzell of Ocilla and James Earl Brazzell and his wife Sherri Brazzell of Lake Park; step-son, Charles Andrew Dickens and his wife Charlene Dickens of Andersonville; step-daughter, Angela Dickens Strickland and her husband Tony Strickland of Ocilla; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
