Larry W. LeClair, 86, of Chester, NH passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday April 28, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born in Holland, VT on August 29, 1935 to the late William and Doris (Wheeler) LeClair. Having been raised in Ridgefield, CT he had been a resident of Chester for the past 53 years. He proudly served his country in the Marine Corp. where he was able to travel the world, which included spending an extended amount of time in Japan. He was employed in the precision optics field and proudly worked on lenses for the Apollo Space Mission and the Hubble telescope. After retiring, he and his wife Nancy pursued their love of travel and fulfilled their lifelong dream of wintering in Florida. He was most proud of taking his family on a cross country journey where they were able to experience the beauty of many of our country’s national parks. In his spare time he could be found working in the yard, bowling, fishing, and golfing.
He is survived by his three children Kathy LeClair of Chester, NH; Kenneth LeClair and his wife Karen of Chester, NH, and Michelle Williams and her husband John of Attleboro, MA; his four grandchildren Katie LeClair, Nicole LeClair, Mike Williams, and Sarah Williams; his great grandson Noah; his two brothers Russell LeClair of Ridgefield, CT and Ronald LeClair and his wife Lee of Millsboro, DE; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his loving wife Nancy (Dunbar) LeClair of 62 years, and his brother William LeClair.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 5th from 1 - 3pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH. A memorial service will follow at 3:00pm in the funeral home. The burial will follow in Great Hill Cemetery, Rt. 121A, Chester.
