Kathleen Delia Algeo, 75, of Litchfield, NH, passed away April 28, 2022, after a period of declining health. She was born March 16, 1947, in Cambridge, MA and was a daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Haney) Woods. She was raised and educated in Cambridge and had been a resident of Litchfield since 1977.
Kathleen and her husband Jack were founders of New England Small Tube Corporation, of Litchfield. Kathleen was Litchfield Town Librarian and an election day ballot clerk.
Kathleen enjoyed reading and was a world traveler, and was always up for an adventure or a rollercoaster! She travelled to the Amazon, the Arctic Circle and Antarctica (she loved the penguins!) Israel (she rode a camel!), Hawaii, Alaska, Ireland, England, Australia (she cuddled a koala!), New Zealand, Faulkner Islands, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Iguazu Falls, the Panama Canal, Mexico, Belize, Curacao, Denmark, Estonia, Sweden, Finland, and St. Petersburg. Some of her favorite vacations were with her "perfect ten" grandchildren in Walt Disney World riding all the rollercoasters!
Kathleen is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Jack Algeo, her daughter, Colleen Ellis and her husband Todd, two sons, Donald Algeo and his wife Kristie and Patrick Algeo and his wife Amy, 10 grandchildren, Ashley, Noah, Elijah, Samuel, Abigail, Michael, Hannah, James, John and Joseph, her brother, Henry J. Woods and his wife Shelia and two sisters, Nancy I. McDevitt and her husband John and Joanne R. Haddad and her husband Michael, Sister in laws Donna Kelley and Sue Montgomery and her husband Herb. She was predeceased by her sister, Margaret A. McDevitt and infant daughter Mary Algeo.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, May 1, 2022, from 2 to 6 pm at the Peabody Funeral Home and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street Derry, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday May 2, 2022, at 11 am in St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 9 St. Francis Way, Litchfield, NH and will conclude with burial at Pinecrest Cemetery of Litchfield.
