J. Rodney “PeeWee” Clemons, 67, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, passed Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 3 PM, Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Charlie Solomon officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Clemons was born December 20, 1954, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Ruby F. Clemons. He was a 1974 graduate of Fitzgerald High School and worked as a project manager for Polar Beverage in Fitzgerald. He was a patient fisherman who’s second home was Lake Eufaula. An avid golfer, the Ocilla Country Club was almost his second home. He will be remembered by friends and family for his calm demeanor and steady voice. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Wilma Jean Clemons of Fitzgerald; son, Larry D. & Becky Justice of McDonough; daughter, Priscilla Jo & Jai Hannah of Rebecca; grandchildren: Ashley Justice, Nolan Justice, Clay Easom, and Lane Easom; a great-grandson, Rhett Justice; and siblings: Jimmy Ray & Lisa Clemons of Navarro, Florida, Barbara Sue Tucker of Fitzgerald, Ronnie & Peggy Clemons of Fitzgerald, Lynn McCollum of Fitzgerald, Bill & Donna Clemons of Macon, Edna Cumbee of Hoover, Alabama, and William & Stephanie Clemons of Fitzgerald. Several nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a special aunt and uncle, Ruth & James Clemons.
