Irene Noyes Olson, 83 of Manchester, NH, died Wednesday, May 3, 2006 in the Mt. Carmel Nursing Home, Manchester. Mrs. Olson was born in Manchester on November 8, 1922, a daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Grady) Noyes. She was a resident of Manchester for over 50 years, having also lived in Derry, NH. Mrs. Olson worked for Gutman Kesslen Shoe Co. in Manchester for many years, retiring in 1985. She was a parishioner of St. Francis Church in Manchester and a member of the Mizpah Rebekah Lodge #15, Derry. Mrs. Olson was also a member of the Marion Grange in Belleview, FL. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, canvas work and arts and crafts. Her family was very important to her.
She is survived a daughter, Barbara J. Couturier and her husband Lee of Derry, three grandchildren, Karen Chew and her husband Michael of Lompoc, CA, David Couturier and Lori Coleman of Londonderry, Steven Couturier of Derry, three great-grandchildren, Jacob Couturier, David and Dawn Chew, three great-great grandchildren, Elexis Chew, Angel Meece and Sharon Patterson, two brothers, John Noyes and his wife Virginia and Richard Noyes and his wife Laura, all of Manchester, a sister, Elizabeth Torrey of Florida and also by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Clifton Olson in 1986, and her brothers and sisters, Albert Noyes,Mary Moody, Henry Noyes, Margaret Stearns, Ethel Roy and Lillian O'Neil.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, May 6th, 2006 at 11:00am in the Mt. Carmel Nursing Home Chapel, 235 Myrtle St., Manchester. The burial followed in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Londonderry. Calling hours were Friday, May 5th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry.
