Isaac A. "Ditto" Tripp, 92, passed away to be with the Lord on April 26, 2022. Ditto was the husband of Geraldine (Medeiros) Tripp, they shared 63 years of marriage. He has 5 daughters: Karen Ann Martin and her husband Dean of Westport, Sharon Nemeth and her husband Bob of Westport, Susan Fontaine and her husband Chris of Westport, Kathy Rego and Marsha Tripp of Cocoa Beach, FL; 4 sons: Ikey Tripp, Bob Tripp, Jeff Tripp and Brian Tripp and Dawn; 24 grandchildren; and lots of great grandchildren.
He was born in Westport, the son of the late Isaac Tripp, Jr. and Barbara Manchester and was raised on a farm on Sodom Rd. The fourth of 10 children, he is the brother of Randall Tripp of Fall River and June M. Hebert of Westport and tons of nieces and nephews. He was brother to the late Ruth M. Norton, Eunice L. Durfee, Barbara A. Carreiro, Harvey B. Tripp, Grover J. Tripp, Calvin F. Tripp and Wendell Tripp.
Many ask: How did you get the name Ditto? Ditto named himself after someone asked him his name and he said "Ditto" after hearing his father say his name and it stuck all his life.
He was a dairy farmer for many years, a butcher, a cattle dealer and continued to raise small animals on the Ditto Tripp Farm.
His relationship with the Lord was manifested in praying daily. When he was ill it brought him great comfort to hear all of the people praying for him from Southern Florida to Upstate New York. He leaves a legacy of love, love, love his coined phrase he would say when you visited and it was time to leave. Ditto will be missed by his family and friends and all of the animals on the farm.
A Celebration of Ditto's Life to which relatives and friends are invited will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at 187 Narrow Ave., Westport at 4:00 P.M.
