Elizabeth (Betty) F. (Giles) Roy
In Loving Memory of, Elizabeth (Betty) F. (Giles) Roy, 83, of Billerica, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday April 7, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest P. Roy.
She was born May 19, 1938 at St. John’s Hospital in Lowell, MA. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence J. Giles and Elizabeth (Reeves) Giles. She was proceeded in death by her two brothers, Robert Giles and Frederick Cross and her two sons George Manetas and Robert Roy.
Elizabeth worked as a nurse’s aide at Tewksbury State Hospital for many years where she thoroughly enjoyed providing care to a variety of patients. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, knitting, and playing Bingo. She also enjoyed spending quality time with her children and grandchildren as much as she could. She enjoyed traveling with her husband taking her children when young to Canada, Florida, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont to stay at motels and camping with their late close friends the Johnsons' and most of the time just with her husband and kids. At Holidays, Birthdays she enjoyed cooking homemade meals, she loved it when family and cousins come by for her homemade red sauce with spaghetti and meatballs, pork chops & Italian sausages. She loved dressing up and dancing with her husband her family at Tewksbury Elks Ball Room, Billerica Public Library Dance Floor and other rental halls for birthdays and holidays. She would be the first one on the dance floor always the moment the music started. She loved to share her family tree, history and her memories of her late Mom, Dad and her late two brothers.
She is survived by her children, James Blanchard, his late wife, Karen Blanchard, and their son, James; Kevin Blanchard, his wife, Wendy Blanchard and their four children, Kelly, Matthew, Rachel and Nicholas; Lisa Manetas; Larry Manetas, his wife Patty Manetas and their two children, Lawrence and Nicole; daughter-in-law, Bernadine Roy and her son, Addison; Geary Roy, his wife, Lisa Roy and their two children, Isabell and Jacob; Rose Roy and her three children, Jessalyn, Zachary, and Brendon. She also leaves behind many other grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Our family chain is broken and
nothing seems the same,
but as God calls us one by one
the chain links again.
Her graveside funeral service will take place on Friday, May 6, 2022, at 10 AM at the Tewksbury Cemetery on East Street in Tewksbury. Her grave is located on Harold J.
