Jacqueline Turner, Xavier, Oldham, born September 21, 1931 went home to her loved ones whom passed before her, on April 23, 2022.
Jackie, daughter to Harry Turner and Hazel O’doyle Turner, sister to Harry Turner, Sergeant First Class, Charles Turner and Muriel Connolly, grew up in Boston and attended the Boston Latin School for girls. At 18 years old, she began a passionate marriage to Robert C. Xavier, moved to her beloved home in Marblehead, produced three daughters, and later two grand daughters.
Jackie later married George Mcdowell Oldham with whom she shared many happy years, and received his children as her own.
Jackie’s work career consisted of office administration, including a few years at the Marblehead Reporter; a position she so loved. Jackie was a caretaker of wayward animals, a breeder of Siamese cats, a consummate gardener, a natural student of world history and religions, and could make a meal of hamburger 365 different ways. She was a dedicated member of the St Stephen’s Methodist church for over 60 years, a volunteer at My Brother’s Table, a member of the Bayview Rd poker club for over 40 years, an Eastern Star member, a proud member of the Salem State Explorers, and later a member and volunteer at the Council on Aging, where she took pride in cutthroat cribbage tournaments and won many a scrabble game. But her pride and joy were her grand daughters, of whom she always made time for, sitting together in her overstuffed chair.
Jackie leaves behind step daughter, Judy Beaupre and her husband Richard and family;
daughter, Susan Xavier Page, son-in-law Daniel Page and grand daughter Danielle Page;
daughter, Karen Xavier Patch and son-in-law Charles Patch; daughter Bobbie Xavier, grand daughter Bonnie Magee, and her significant other, Anthony Navarro; niece Maria Connolly Rogers, her siblings and son Shane; and many friends from the Bayview neighborhood, Powder House Court, the C.O.A, and St Stephen’s church; all of whom will carry in their hearts, her wise, feisty, bawdy-humored, always-good-intentioned ways, with them ,as a gift given by her, and remembrance of having had such a full and loving life! You did it right Jackie!
A celebration of life has been planned for 1 pm, on June 12, 2022 at 7 Bayview Road, Marblehead in Jackie’s garden.
In lieu of flowers donations to My Brother’s Table would be welcomed at: http//mybrotherstable.org
