Cynthia A. (Desroches) Levesque, 72, of Fall River, formerly of Assonet, died Sunday, April 24, 2022 after a long illness.
She was the wife of Roger L. Levesque.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Raymond O. Desroches and Dorothy (Beaumont) Perry, and stepdaughter to the late Justin Perry, Jr., she was raised in Fairhaven and lived in Assonet before moving to Fall River.
She was formerly employed as a registered nurse at Charlton Memorial Hospital and later at Pulmonary Care at Truesdale Clinic until her retirement.
Cynthia enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and gardening. She was a gifted singer and longtime member of the Sippican Choral Society, and the St. Bernard's Folk group.
Survivors include her husband; 3 sons, Christopher Levesque and his wife Julie of Franklin, Matthew Levesque and his wife Liane of Marstons Mills, and Jonathan Levesque and his wife Amy of Assonet; a daughter, Bethany Souto and her husband Stephen of Norton; 3 brothers, Stephen Desroches of Fairhaven, Randall Desroches of Acushnet and Gregory Desroches of Fairhaven; a sister, Renee Desroches of Dartmouth; a step-brother, Ronald Perry of Warwick, RI; 12 grandchildren, Connor Levesque, Caleb Levesque, Cameron Levesque, Emma Levesque, Megan Levesque, Joshua Levesque, Tyler Levesque, Nathan Levesque, Ryan Levesque, Audrey Levesque, Sarah Souto and Benjamin Souto; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 9 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven. Visiting hours will be held on Friday May 6, 2022 from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation, 4370 Tujunga Ave., Suite 110, Studio City, CA 91604. The Foundation was created in order to keep music alive in our schools by providing vital support services to school districts and new musical instruments to underfunded music programs nationwide, giving under-represented youth access to the many benefits of music education.
