Frederick Raymond Lofgren Jr., a resident of Harwich, MA and, formerly, Lyndeborough NH, passed away on April 24, 2022 at 77 years old.
Fred was born April 20, 1945 in Springfield, MA to Frederick Raymond Lofgren and Betty-Jean Lofgren. He graduated from Wellesley High School, earned a B.A. from Amherst College in 1967, and served in the U.S. Army from 1968 – 1970 during the Vietnam War. Following his service, Fred began his career at Mutual Life Insurance Co. of New York in 1970. He later earned an M.B.A. from Rivier College Graduate School and a M.S. in Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University.
In 1975, Fred married Robin Barr Lofgren – the love of his life - after mutual friends introduced them. They moved to Amherst, NH and Fred accepted a position with Hitchiner Manufacturing Co. where he served from 1975 – 2002 in numerous roles including EVP of Finance & Administration, Chief Financial Officer, Ethics Officer, Treasurer and Secretary. Later in his career, Fred was President & CEO at RPP Corporation and then facilitated the sale of Keyson Airways to Infinity Aviation Group where he served as CFO and fulfilled a lifelong aspiration of pursuing his pilot’s license.
Fred excelled in everything that he did. He was Past President of The Milford Rotary Club, served on numerous boards, and was an avid skier, golfer, and fisherman who loved spending time with his family and could fix, solve or build just about anything.
He is survived by his wife, Robin Lofgren of Harwich MA; daughters Inger Barr (Lofgren) Karlsson of Wellesley, MA and Kimberly Cooper (Lofgren) DeVylder of Wolfeboro, NH; sister Nancy Williams of Webster, MA; and grandchildren Ulrika, Torsten and Britta Karlsson.
