Dale Fields, 69, of Mystic, Georgia, died Monday, April 25, 2022, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Ocilla Church of God in Ocilla, with the Rev. Josh Bowles officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Fields was born April 18, 1953, in Fayette, Alabama, to Rachel Jenkins Fields and the late J.W. Fields. He was a 1971 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy. Mr. Fields was one of the first members when the Ben Hill County Volunteer Fire Department was formed. He worked as a cutter for SWS Garment and also worked for several years at Domino’s. He was an avid softball player and deer hunter. He also enjoyed watching westerns. He was of the Church of God faith.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Ann Busbin Fields of Mystic; children and their spouses: Terry Dale Fields, Jr. & Amie Kathleen Fields of Mystic, Robert Lee Stevens & Elizabeth Ann Stevens of Fitzgerald, Crystal Diane Miller & Glenn David Miller, Jr. of New York, and Rosa Lee Pittman & Rouse W. Pittman of Fitzgerald; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his mother, Rachel Jenkins Fields of Fitzgerald; and siblings: Beverly Martin of Fitzgerald, Elaine & Bennie Hutto of Fitzgerald, Karen Baker & Freddy Reyes of Fitzgerald, Sammy & Heather Fields of Ocilla and Rose & David Grimes of Fitzgerald. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard C. Fields.
