Geraldine Lockwood Tyler, 70, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at the Ocilla Church of God, in Ocilla, Georgia, with the Rev. Jeremy Donald and the Rev. Kevin Dawson officiating. The interment will follow at 5 PM, Wednesday, at Corinth Cemetery, in Seminole County, Georgia. The family will receive friends at 12 noon until the service hour in the sanctuary of the church.
Mrs. Tyler was born January 22, 1952, in Ft. Myers, Florida, to the late Henry C. “Cal” & Isabel Russell Lockwood. She graduated from Pahokee High School in 1970 and was a former clerk for the Belle Glade Police Department for 18 years. Mrs. Tyler moved to the community in 1998. She was a member of the Ocilla Church of God.
She is survived by her four sons and their spouses: Myles & Bethany Tyler of Fitzgerald, Mark & Kelly Tyler of Plant City, Florida, Michael & Stephanie Tyler of Valrico, Florida and Matthew & Leigh Tyler of Plant City, Florida; grandchildren: Mason Tyler, Marcus Tyler, Michael Tyler, Evan Tyler, Kayla Rodriguez, Mitchell Tyler, Meghan Tyler, Reed Tyler, Lauryn Tyler and Brooke Tyler and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Tyler; a sister, Marietta Bell; and her father & mother-in-law Frank Ray Tyler & Dixie Vernice Miller Tyler.
