In Taunton, Richard J. Stratton, age 80, passed away in his home peacefully while surrounded by his loving family on April 25, 2022. Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marie (DeSousa) Stratton. He was born in Taunton, the son of the late Robert & Helen (Coyle) Stratton.
Richard was a lifetime resident of Taunton and was educated in Taunton schools. Richard served his country during the Vietnam War while in the U.S. Army. He was employed at Texas Instruments in Attleboro as a facilities manager until his retirement. Richard enjoyed carpentry, he took great pride in maintaining his yard, loved visiting Maine, NASCAR, his best friend “Milo” the dog, and above all he looked forward to family gatherings, loved his family, especially his loving grandchildren and cherished their time together.
Richard is survived by his children; Robert Stratton and his wife Michelle of Norton, Christine Milligan and her late husband Michael of Taunton and Ingrid O’Connell and husband William of Dighton, his grandchildren; Kate, Jaclyn, Lauren, William O’Connell and James and Mackenzie Milligan, his siblings; Judy Demers and her late husband Ernest, Alice Adams and husband Ronald of Mansfield and Virginia Toukan and husband Abdullah of Cotuit and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Nicholas of Myra Church in North Dighton on Thursday, April 28th at 11am. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in Richard’s memory to the Taunton Disabled American Veterans, DAV Chapter #57, 5-7 Taunton Green, Taunton, MA 02780
