Sandra Thoelke, 76, of Keytesville, Missouri, died Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Memorial services will be held in Missouri at a later date.
Mrs. Thoelke was born July 9, 1945, in Winfield, Missouri, to the late George Isaac & Ava Arlene Huitt Gifford. She graduated from Winfield High School and Northwestern College, now Truman College, in Kirksville, Missouri. She earned her Registered Nurse degree from Miami-Dade Community College. She worked as an RN in hospitals and nursing homes as well as a prison. She loved to crochet and was an avid animal lover. She enjoyed her nursing and helping others. She loved children and visiting garage sales.
She is survived by her children: Heather & John Harrell of Fitzgerald and William Jonathan “B.J.” Thoelke of Keytesville, Missouri; grandchildren: Serena & Joshua Monk of Fitzgerald, Leo William Hernandez of Eastman, and Thomas Alexander Harrell of Fitzgerald; great-grandson, Dylan Lamar Monk; two brothers: Gerald Eugene “Jerry” & Pat Gifford of Winfield, Missouri and William Benjamin “Bill” & Yvonne Gifford of St. Louis, Missouri, a sister: Peggy Sue Hunt of O’Fallon, Missouri; a brother-in-law, George Edward “Eddie” Thoelke of Moberly, Missouri; and two sisters-in-law, Charlene Gifford of Winfield, Missouri and Rita Gifford of Old Monroe, Missouri. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cary William Thoelke; a son, Gregory George Thoelke; and two brothers: George Edwin Gifford and James LeRoy Gifford.
