Walter R. Galvin of Andover, MA passed peacefully the evening of April 22 surrounded by loving family. He was born in Boston to Christine and John Galvin and is survived by his adoring wife, Judy, his sisters, Betty and Joan Galvin of Hyde Park. His children, William Galvin and wife Nancy, of Tewksbury, Walter Galvin Jr. of Andover, Kathleen Goulma of Methuen and Dan Galvin and husband David Nadeau of Methuen. His adored grandchildren, Michaela Chicarello and husband Steven, Erika Galvin, Kylie Galvin and Michael Galvin, and great-grandchild Greyson Chicarello.
Wally loved nothing more than making people laugh and had friends everywhere. He loved sports, body surfing and his motorcycle. He commuted to his job in Boston for over 20 years on the bike, even in the winter. He was an avid card player and bowled in leagues for years, and loved playing softball in his bank league. He was a member of the St. Patrick’s community in Lawrence and had many friends there. He had a strong faith in God and the afterlife and believed that he would be surrounded and welcomed by all who passed before him. Including his two children Julie and Mike Galvin.
He was a loving husband, father, brother and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
