Margaret “Peggy” A. (Vena) Kearney, 74, of Whitman, MA died on Thursday April 21, 2022 at her home surrounded by family after a long illness.
Born in Boston, MA in 1947, Peggy was raised in Quincy, MA where she graduated from Quincy Junior College in 1967.
She spent her career working in various clerical and administrative positions, most recently for Blue Cross Blue Shield. Her proudest achievement, however, was the wonderful family she raised, which she loved very much.
Peggy loved to travel and visited many places around the world. She enjoyed shopping and giving her family gifts and loved her Wheel of Fortune.
Peggy was predeceased by her husband of nearly 49 years, Arthur “Dan” D. Kearney. She is survived by her three children, Timothy R. Kearney (Tasha), Michele A. Collick (Tom), and Patrick M. Kearney (Cristin), her six grandchildren, Stephanie Collick, Rebecca Collick, Timothy Kearney, Matthew Kearney, Joseph Kearney and Sarah Kearney, and her two great-grandchildren, Devin Kerr and Brayden Kerr. Peggy was the beloved sister of Elizabeth Zschau, James Vena, Edward Vena and Lynn Vena. She was predeceased by her parents, Richard Vena and Margaret (Russell) Vena, of Quincy, her sister Roberta Davis, and her brother Richard Vena.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Friday May 6 at 10:45 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00-10:45 AM
