Mrs. Anne V. (Lawless) Gontarz, 74, of Medford passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at her home. Born in Medford, she was raised in Melrose, and lived in Medford for the past 44 years. She worked numerous jobs in banking and retail but none as important as being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mrs. Gontarz was predeceased by her father, Thomas E. Lawless II. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Richard J. Gontarz of Medford and her beloved children; son: Brian Gontarz and his wife Rachel of Windham, NH; and daughters: Karen and her husband Brian Murphy of Derry, NH, and Christine and her husband Daniel Almeida of Franklin, MA. She was a cherished Nana and Nini to her four grandchildren: Connor, Walker, Hunter, and Maggie. She is also survived by her mother: Irene Lawless, and six sisters and brothers: Joyce Lawless, Carol Jangro, Nancy Crotty, Thomas Lawless III, Julie Woods, and David Lawless.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Medford, on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
