Kevin D. Murray, 61, of Carver passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Linda J. (Popielarz) Murray since 1989.
Born on January 11, 1961, in Ithaca, New York, he was the son of the late Daniel R. and Mona Loy (Nordling) Murray.
Kevin was a resident of Carver for the past 3 years. He grew up in Sharon and graduated from Sharon High School in 1979. He attended a foreign exchange student program and attended an extra year of high school in Sweden.
Kevin had worked as an installer for Boiler Equipment, Inc. for seven years and had formerly worked for Sunset Building Services as a skyscraper window washer in Boston for many years. In his younger days, he trained Standardbred harness horses at various horse tracks along the eastern seaboard.
Kevin enjoyed gardening, fishing, and cooking and loved being at the farm in Carver. He volunteered at the Sharon Community Garden for many years and was an avid New England sports fan. Kevin also enjoyed spending time with his family at the family cottage “The Sandbox” in the Brewster Flats on Cape Cod.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Tyler Murray and his wife Jennifer of Mendon and his daughter Sarah Murray of Carver.
He is also survived by his brother Steven Murray and his wife Danelle of John’s Creek, Georgia, two sisters, Suzanne Murray of North Attleboro and Elizabeth McDonald and her husband Bill of Norton, two nieces Cassidy and Samantha McDonald and one nephew Will Reissfelder.
Kevin also leaves behind his beloved dog, Duke.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 59 Cottage Street in Sharon on Tuesday, April 26 from 4 – 7 p.m.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 59 Cottage Street in Sharon on Wednesday, April 27 at 10 a.m.
