Beloved sister of David Espitia, Evangelina Espitia and Ricardo Espitia all of Colombia. Cherished grandmother of 11 and great grandmother of 7. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, CHELSEA on Monday morning, May 8th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in the Most Holy Redeemer Church, 72 Maverick Street, EAST BOSTON at 10 o'clock. Visiting Hours in the Smith Funeral Home on Sunday from 4-7 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
Bertina, age 86, passed away in the emergency room at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, shortly after her arrival.
Born in Gachativa, Colombia, she came to this country in 1978, settling in East Boston. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
