Obituary

MANCHESTER - William J. Fifty, 97, died on April 18, 2022 surrounded by loving family.

Born in Manchester, NH to George and Nellie (Malloy) Fifty, William graduated from Central High School and served with the United States Navy during World War II. He then worked at Anchor Manufacturing and later for the US Postal Service. He retired to Port Richey, FL in 1986 and returned to New Hampshire in 2009.

William was an avid reader throughout his life, and he also enjoyed sudoku and other challenging puzzles. He was a loyal fan of New England sports, especially the Red Sox. He was a beloved "Uncle Bill" to his many nieces and nephews. There was not a person who met William who didn’t love him.

William is predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Anna (Colón), and nine siblings. He is survived by his three children: June O'Brien of Chadds Ford, PA, Michael Fifty of Acworth, GA, and Ann and her husband James Kalasky of Manchester; and two grandchildren, William and Gwendolyn Kalasky.

Services: Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, Apr. 24, 2022 at J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home from 4-6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, Apr. 25, 2022 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Chapel, Lowell St. Manchester. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in William’s name may be made online or mailed to Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Rd, Merrimack NH 03054.
