Cecilia Corioni “Peachie” O’Flynn, 92, of Ventura, California, passed away on March 29, 2022 in Ventura, California. Cecilia was born in Oakland, California to Caterina and Adriano Corioni on June 20, 1929. She was the middle child between Giovanna “Lily” and Ben. She attended Oakland Technical High School and graduated in 1948. Following graduation, she worked at Blue Cross of California in the claims department. Cecilia volunteered as a Red Cross Gray Lady at Oak Knoll Naval Hospital in Oakland. It was there that she met Clancy O’Flynn, a Marine wounded in the Korean War. They married on July 19, 1952, and remained married until Clancy passed in December of 2008. Cecilia had a contagious laugh and fun sense of humor. She had the gift of making everyone feel welcome. She was an accomplished seamstress and excellent cook. If Cecilia wasn’t sewing, she was cooking Italian favorites for her family, and of course corned beef and cabbage for Clancy on St. Patrick Day. Cecilia was the quintessential Italian mom and doting grandmother. Besides cooking and sewing, she loved to garden and tend to her roses. Her most treasured times were those spent with her family and friends, most often over a cup of coffee.
Cecilia is survived by her son, Ed O’Flynn of Chino Hills, daughter, Kathleen Kennedy of Ventura, granddaughters Amanda Walsh (husband Larry) of Burbank, and Sabrina Chase (husband Dan) of Ventura, great grandchildren: Laurel Ailis Walsh and Jane Clancy Walsh of Burbank, and Eleanor Cecilia Chase and Harrison Douglas Chase of Ventura, plus many nieces, nephews and cousins in the Bay Area. She is preceded in death by her husband Clancy O’Flynn, parents Caterina and Adriano Corioni, sister Giovanna “Lily” Lassalle, and brother Ben Corioni.
