Matthew Christopher Barker was born May 1, 1980, in Lowell, Massachusetts and passed away February 8, 2022, at his parents' home in Roseville, Ca. due to a long illness.
While growing up in Pelham, New Hampshire he attended the Pelham schools and enjoyed his time playing sports. As time went on Matt became a Boy Scout with Troop 25, Arrowhead District and attained the rank of Eagle Scout as well as become a member of the Order of the Arrow. Matt also took the opportunity to become a member of the Pelham Fire Explorer Post. He enjoyed that very much and had the chance to use the skills he learned in an actual accident for which he received a Certificate of Appreciation for demonstrating the use of Emergency Preparedness and First Aid.
Soon after achieving his Eagle rank Matt moved to Roseville, California as part of a family move where he graduated in 1999 from Woodcreek High School. Matt later attended the Institute of Technology, Roseville graduating in 2006 for Culinary Arts.
Matt was known for always helping others throughout his life and enjoyed spending time camping, fishing and prospecting for gold along the American River.
Matt will be remembered by Jodi and their three sons, Jakob, Benjamin and Nicolas, his brother Bryan and parents, Steve and Rita Barker. In addition to his immediate family Matt had many friends and relatives from around the country including his special friend Lori Rogers.
Services will be held at Farmer & Dee Funeral Home in Tewksbury, Mass from 2-4pm on May 1st, 2022, with final resting place at the Tewksbury Cemetery on May 2nd at 10:00 am in Tewksbury, Mass.
