Obituary

CHICOPEE – Regina “Babci” (Leboda) Drabinski, 97, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, April 14, 2022. She passed into Eternal Life at Willimansett Center East in Chicopee surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Kalisz, Poland on November 13, 1924, a beloved daughter of the late Stefan and Stefania (Wielgusiak) Leboda. She was raised and educated in Kalisz and immigrated to Holyoke in 1949. She later moved to Chicopee where she lived for many years. She was employed as a Machine Operator at the former A.G. Spalding in Chicopee. She was a member of the Polish National Alliance Lodge 2400 where she served as President, Recording Secretary and Treasurer. She loved to travel and especially loved shopping everywhere. Most of all, she was a wonderful homemaker to her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her husband and soul mate, Stanislaw Drabinski who was Called Home on December 15, 1986. She leaves her three loving daughters, Christina H. Barthelette of Naples, FL, Donna L. Sulikowski of Chicopee and Junia “Elizabeth” Loranger and her husband, Paul, of Granby; her five cherished grandchildren, Sharon Jackson and her husband, Ryan, Gregory Barthelette and his wife, Cara, Zachariah French, Sol Loranger and his wife, Jennifer, and Corey Loranger and his wife, Susie; and her eight cherished great grandchildren, Chase and Grant Jackson, Noelle and Eva Barthelette, Sasha and Mace Loranger, Brianna Hennigan and her husband, Gilio, and Emma Loranger. In addition, she leaves her dear sister in law, Irene Drabinski of Chicopee; and her nephew and three nieces. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her dear sister, Jane Drabinski. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home. Her burial will be private at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in South Hadley. Her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
