Luis A. Depina, 76, of Dartmouth died April 12, 2022 peacefully at home with his wife of 40 years by his side.
He was the husband of Aucilia L. (Lobo) Depina.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, son of the late Joao Depina Gomes and Margarida (Alves) Gomes, he lived in Boston before moving to Dartmouth 40 years ago.
He was formerly employed by Swank Leather in Norwalk, CT and later by Vasen Leather in Fall River until his retirement.
He enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Steve Goncalves and his wife Deborah of Midlothian, TX; 4 brothers, Carlos Alves, Jose Pina Gomes, Joao Alves Gomes and Antonio Alves Gomes all of Pawtucket; 2 sisters, Ana Alves Depina and Lucilia Alves Depina, both of Pawtucket; a grandson, Nicholas Goncalves; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Hilario Pina Gomes.
His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 19th at 10:30 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted.
